Deep Freeze is a weekend retreat planned specifically for Jr High youth groups – that means lots of action in the snow, great food, dynamic chapel speakers and a full worship band – all to encourage youth in their walk with Christ! We take care of the programming so youth leaders can spend their time investing in relationships with their youth.
Finding God in every moment
Deep Freeze retreaters all come with their church youth groups and so there is a lot of time in the schedule for deepening friendships that will continue at home. There are also fun opportunities to mix with other youth groups and make new friends!
A full worship band and chapel speaker will provide opportunities to be encouraged and challenged in your faith journey. There is also time set aside in the schedule for Chillin' in Church groups - a time when each church youth group can spend time discussing what was taught in the chapels and how it applies to daily life.
We hope you like winter as much as we do, because if the weather cooperates, there will be an outdoor skating rink, a downhill tube run, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice-fishing, and plain old fun in the snow. Our program staff will provide some group games with all the youth groups and as well as help supervise free time activities where you can choose your own adventure.
Meet the Deep Freeze 2 Chapel Speaker!
Mark is the Pastor of Youth and Outreach at Brant Community Church in Brantford. Before that he served for 13 years at Kitchener Mennonite Brethren Church in a variety of roles. His passion is helping youth discover a hope and purpose in Jesus. In his spare time you’ll find him reading, hanging out with his wife Theresa, or continuing his quest to find the best fried chicken in the world.
Toasty or Bring it On!
Pricing depends on the type of accommodation. All the prices below are the full charge for the weekend (taxes included)!
Toasty – $110
Bring it ON! (Cabins) – $90
Toasty spaces are either a cabin or a room. They are fully winterized with washroom facilities (most include showers) and will be assigned by size of group.
Bring it ON! cabins are not winterized, but do have electricity and baseboard heaters. There are no washroom facilities in these cabins, but you can use full washroom facilities (including showers) in the Centre (a short walk away). The temperature of these cabins is usually around 15C, so make sure to bring a good sleeping bag and an extra blanket!
